Founded in 2009 by Greg Bass whilst studying at Lancaster University, the early days of the company were spent filming for clients across Lancaster as well as in Greg’s home country, Norway. An amalgamation of these two places is where the name LANOR (Lancaster + Norway) came from. Not to be confused with a well known brand of fabric softener!
Since then, the company has won numerous awards and has produced videos for brands including Craghoppers, American Golf, Kew Gardens, and Yamaha motorcycles.
We are an enthusiastic bunch of filmmakers who love using narrative and cinematic shots to tell a unique story for your business.
Our mission is to ensure our clients not only receive a great service, but also a premium end product that they’re proud to share.
We are based in Manchester but frequently travel across the UK and around the world.
Whether it’s a corporate, promotional, event, vertical social media video, or you’re not quite sure; we’d love to chat about how we can help make a video for your business.

When making your video, there are three main steps: pre-production, production, and post-production.
Pre-production is essentially planning your shoot. This can include everything from concept creation, script writing and storyboarding, all the way through to casting, selecting the right crew, location scouting, equipment rental, securing filming permits, and much more.
Production is when we actually film your video. Good video production requires three key ingredients; the right film crew, good equipment and creative vision. The good news is, we provide all three.
Post-production is where we turn the raw footage from your shoot into the finished product. We take care of editing, visual effects, choosing the right “takes”, sound & music, voiceovers, colouring and more. The end result? An outstanding video that tells the best version of your story.
